It's about damn time
House Republican Study Committee document recommends huge cutsAn internal Republican Study Committee document which is now available online and was simultaneously leaked to RAW STORY Thursday outlines an array of huge cuts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, including the elimination of funding for Amtrak and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The initial spin on the post-Katrina political landscape was that we were witnessing the death of limited-government conservatism. Wouldn't it be ironic if we were actually watching its rebirth instead?

Heh. Like Katrina could kill an idea that no official ever seemed to implement, but gave the occasional hollow lip-service to.
Rebirth would be glorious. Cutting spending is not an option that has been discussed nearly enough these past years, and with the left screaming bloody budget murder, you'd think the idea might have come to the table at SOME point.
