New York mayoral primaries
For those of you following the primaries in New York, Anthony Weiner (heh, heh) has decided to concede to Freddie Ferrer. Ferrer beat Weiner (heh) handily in yesterday's primary, but couldn't quite muster the 40% required to prevent a runoff. Now, however, it appears a runoff will be unnecessary, and Freddy Ferrer can march unopposed into November and be slaughtered by Mike Bloomberg.

too bad...I ended liking Weiner (the candidate). Ferrer is nothing but a 1970s retread--Loser with a capital L.

I heard something on the Brian Lehrer Show that speculated that both Weiner and Miller were positioning themselves for wider name recognition for a possible statewide run later. That made sense to me. Weiner (notice how I was able to avoid heh well, until now?) seems okay enough. Something about Miller I cannot stand.

The Dems are continuing to pay for the disastrous Dinkins administration which left a truly bad taste in the mouths of many Dems as well as everyone else.
I agree with you, K, about Miller who looks like a frat boy who seems to expect he's entitled to higher office for reasons which escape me.

Gotta wonder if Mayor Mike will try to characterize Ferrer as: "the Weiner Beater."
