The final vote count
So CRB doesn't have to watch C-SPAN any more, the Iraq troop resolution was defeated by a vote of 403 to 3. The three stupidest members of Congress are now officially:
Cynthia A. McKinney, D - GA
Robert Wexler, D - FL
Jose E. Serrano, D - NY
Democrats cried foul because the resolution's language differed from that of Murtha's. The Republican resolution called for an immediate withdrawal, and was calculated to get as many no votes as possible. It was no more tendentious than Murtha's resolution, however, which was so vaguely worded that President Bush could have supported it, and was calculated to get as many yes votes as possible. Welcome to the world of politics.

They were all forced to put their money where their mouths are. I'm sick of the left playing it both ways. They can't pander to their Cindy Sheehan, Michael Moore base, and also appear to be for this war. That's what many are trying to do.
We are at war. You are either for it, or you are against it, but you have to choose.

My favorite moment?
When they dragged away R-Ohio Jean Schmidt, attack poodle for Bush in her July 4th picnic-outfit, kicking, screaming, and foaming at the mouth through the muzzle her handlers had to put on her.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Her remarks were subsequently stricken from the COngressional REcord. How embarrassing!
And, uh, Stupid, you didn't read this, did you?
To show the profound cynicism and hypocrisy of the Right, they KNEW we were going to withdraw ANYWAY!! Cut-and-run before '06 is ALREADY PLANNED!!

Defense official: Rumsfeld given Iraq withdrawal plan
Plan calls for troops to begin pulling out after December elections
Friday, November 18, 2005
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The top U.S. commander in Iraq has submitted a plan to the Pentagon for withdrawing troops in Iraq, according to a senior defense official.
Gen. George Casey submitted the plan to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. It includes numerous options and recommends that brigades -- usually made up of about 2,000 soldiers each -- begin pulling out of Iraq early next year."
Hey, those '06 midterms are coming up, and Rethuglycans are getting sphincter spasms just THINKING about it.
I am just going to LAUGH AND LAUGH as Rethuglycan after Rethuglycan sends a message to the White House
"Please, Karl, tell President Bush no visit is necessary, we're doing just FINE here!"
Forrester said Bush cost him a few points the final days, and Rove knows it.

Murtha, another decorated Vietnam veteran whom the Republican Chickenhawks call a coward, did not put this up for a vote. The Republicans called for a vote. The Republicans actually put the issue forward. It was just a very low political ploy, more of their typical cowardly bullying, to attempt to stop debate on the war through intimidation and humiliation.
We have seen the Republicans in power how many years? They never learned how to share as children, apparently. Now we have the most criminal and least civil government in history. That's the Republican way!

I did see Jean Schmidt read a letter written to her by a Marine in Iraq who wanted her to tell Rep. Murtha something to the effect that Marines don't cut and run, cowards cut and run. The democrats then booed at Rep. Schmidt but they were really booing the Marine in Iraq.

I hope Murtha stands up and read my letter to him, loudly stating my belief that Bush is "A HUGE STINKING LYING SACK OF SHIT AND A TRAITOR" right into the congressional record. If Republicans boo, they are booing at America, and the middle class, and fathers with children, and veterans -- hey, he's just reading my letter, so what would be the big deal?

I understand he was going to do just that, but the crayon markings ran.
You might want to consider re-sending it.
