But...
...what does it mean?
In a surprise result, Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.) was elected Democratic Caucus vice chairman on the second ballot, defeating Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.), 116 to 87.Larson's victory came just minutes after he unexpectedly supplanted Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) to qualify for the second ballot in the three-way race.

It actually means a lot, Barry, if you keep up with House internal affairs.
Larson supplanted Schakowsky, according to your posting. He SUPPLANTED her. Thats super hot. Don't you get it? Only liberal Dems are allowed to supplant, male or female. James Dobson, Robertson, Dr Land, Falwell--they don't condone supplanting within the GOP, so its never been done on that side of the aisle.
Supplanting is fun and relatively un-dangerous, but doing it the wrong way can present risks.
Christ, do I have too much time on my hands today.......
