Hillary on choice

School choice, that is. With all the subtlety of Pat Robertson discussing feminism, Hillary Clinton has weighed in on vouchers. Giving poor families greater choice in education, she argues, can lead to white supremacism and jihad.

Nothing like a nuanced argument, huh? Now I don't know how many Aryan Nation schools or jihad clinics in this country have state accreditation, but if the number is anything other than zero, we have more to worry about than a simple voucher program.

Hillary's first term has been characterized by carefully moderated viewpoints and shrewd triangulation. She was thus well on her way to becoming one of my favorite Democratic senators (faint praise though that may be.) Stunts like this, however, remind me why she was my bête noire a decade ago.

Comments

I read the Hillary's comments and didn't find them to be as wacky as you made it seem. She made a valid point, although she could have stated it with a little more care.

Admit it Barry, you really like her, don't you?

I like her a little.

But she is wrong, wrong, wrong on school choice (to coin a phrase.)

"First family that comes and says 'I want to send my daughter to St. Peter's Roman Catholic School' and you say 'Great, wonderful school, here's your voucher,'" Clinton said. "Next parent that comes and says, 'I want to send my child to the school of the Church of the White Supremacist ...' The parent says, 'The way that I read Genesis, Cain was marked, therefore I believe in white supremacy. ... You gave it to a Catholic parent, you gave it to a Jewish parent, under the Constitution, you can't discriminate against me.'"

I admit that it is hard to argue with that logic, but what if the first family that comes in are Eastern Rite Satanist and the third family that comes in are the Catholics and the White Supremacists don't come in until like eighth or nineth? Doesn't that mess up the whole situation?

And furthermore: Does this argument stand up for Reform Supremacists? (Reform Supremacists are racist, but they accept sincere conversions.)

I can certainly understand drawing the line at Evangelical Wicans, but what about Druids?

Revenge of the Nerds?
Ricky Williams the NFL running back has made a choice to smoke dope, rather than make millions of dollars a year by failing his 5th drug test. Many among us will say he should never play again. Ricky performs less than half an hour (actual time) for 16 Sundays; this equals 8 hours of finished performance per year. Nobody cares that the same man will drive countless (drug induced hours) on our highways. Lesson learned? It is more important to insure that: a large fast man is chemically pure between 2 white lines where the public is forbidden, than keeping him out from between two white lines designed for public travel. Wake up, football is more important than public safety. This is our educational message today. Get it yet? Jocks are the problem.

A College Professor and his ideologies help mold our future leaders through force feeding a twenty year olds brain. If those students do not slurp down this possibly tainted knowledge, those students’ grades slip and they do not lead in the future. These HIGHER educational standards are lower than Ricky William’s. Smoke another bowl Professor and repeat your mantra of, the children will suffer without my brilliant mind. The reason CNN does not report the failed drug test scores of the UCLA or any other college faculty is because educators are not tested and because we have been programmed to expect clarity of mind from a large man that can run fast, over the educational institution. Parents of America go in debt sending their kids to these educators, save your money and send them to a Baseball Game if you want higher standards
