A more conservative House?
Robert Novak, who's still the most reliable political prognosticator out there, thinks that the House of Representatives may well end up more conservatvie, on balance, than it is now, even if the GOP loses control. His reasononing is that the Republican Study Committee will wield a greater influence within the (smaller) Republican caucus.
I hope he's right. I'd rather have a truly conservative minority than a faux conservative majority.

Great. Maybe Ann Coulter and Jerry Falwell should run for the house next time. That would do it.

Well, to be fair, I don't think I'd label the person I don't name and Falwell as conservative so much as insane.

They call themselves conservatives and conservatives TV hosts like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity in Fox News call them all the time to get their "conservative" expert opinion.

Conservative used to mean intelligent, reasoned, and wise like William F. Buckley.
Now it means rabid war mongers, frothing propogandists, deceitful neofascists, sympathizers, apologists, big-haired preachers, and pinhead radio parrots reading the talking points 24/7.
It only took Chimp six years to end what Reagan started almost 30 years ago. Conservativism didn't fail, it WAS failed. It won't recover.
