By media I supposed you are referring to Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter and the rest of the wingnuts who dominate the media with never-ending vicious slander and propoganda.
There are approximately 2000 radio stations in the U.S. that identify themselves as primarily "news/talk." Rush Limbaugh is on about 600 of them for three hours per day, five days a week. Sean Hannity is on about 500 for the same 15 hours each week.
So there is approximately 17,520,000 hours of "news/talk" broadcast annually over radios in the U.S., of which Limbaugh and Hannity occupy approximately 792,000 or approximately 4.5% of the "news/talk" radio airwaves. No one else in the industry even comes close to the penetration of Limbaugh and Hannity. The rest of the conservatives put together are about equal to those two giants.
So the right-wing controls about 10% of "news/talk" radio programming. One would think that the left would be able to make due with the other 90%.

Not to mention the over 90% control they have over TV (cable & broadcast) - ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, etc....not to mention the government funded outlets like PBS and NPR.
There's actually few outlets for those independent thinkers who refuse to be "dittoheads" to the accepted orthodoxy of the MSM.
Some folks seem to forget that although the media is 80% Liberal, the country is overwhelmingly Conservative. I see no reason why those Conservative voices should be disparaged or stifled, in any way.
In fact they deserve to be respected and validated, as they were this past Tuesday - "Gay Marriage" - NO, "Eminent Domain" - NO, "Open Borders" - NO, "Gun Rights" - YES, "Lower Taxes" - YES.
The whole "liberal media" myth is just a tired bit of non-stop propoganda that started with Limbaugh and other wingnut idiots, who account for almost 100% of political talk on the radio. The other time slots are reserved for big haired secretly homosexual Repug preachers who also bash Democrats.

More passionate naivete from Barely.
The FACT that over almost 90% of all the reporters, producers and editors in the MSM are Liberal Democrats is proof of that charge.
The NY Times is having its board challenged by its major investors (in an attempt to oust Pinky Salzberger) precisely because of their constant editorializing within news stories has resulted in a plummeting circulation and a severe loss of revenue.
Talk Radio is an broadcast Op-Ed page...pure commentary, increasingly and unfortunately, in that regard, much like the NY Times news section.
Though in the NYT case, hopefully, not for very much longer.

Sorry, Bailey. I know how much "vicious slander" upsets your delicate sensibilities. ;-)

Stop posting assertions you can't back up Barely.
You actually hurt your cause by doing that.
