O, the humanity!
Paris Hilton is headed back to the slammer. I guess trying to do her court appearance by telephone didn't go over so well. Am I the only one who thought Drudge's "Phoning it in!" headline was just a figure of speech? Silly me.

Heard this on the news this morning. I guess the Sheriff had more (sympathy...is that what it's called?) then the judge. Or maybe they forgot to include the judge in the payoffs.

I normally don't care about this bimbo but one report about her shaking, added to the impending nervous breakdown suggests to me that she is detoxing and doesn't like it.

I can't believe all the talking heads saying she's getting a raw deal. That she didn't deserve jail time for such a small infraction.
Excuse me? Isn't probation, which she got from her previous arrest, a break? And being arrested while on probation, she doesn't deserve jail time?
Does Geraldo or any of these other A-holes understand what probation means?! It means you WERE given a break and you blew it. Do not pass go, etc., etc. Morons!

Anyone else would be in real prison, not jail, after three violations driving drunk without a license and on probation.
A break would be only six months to a year in jail instead of prison.

Bailey must really mean it, given the number of times he posted that last comment.
As I understand it, she was nabbed for drunk driving, plead it down to reckless driving, got probation, got caught violating probation and was let go without a scratch, then violated probation a second time and the judge gave her a very short stretch which was reduced from 45 to 23 days, which meant she could get out in a total of 16 days if she behaved herself. She's already received credit for a week even though she's spent a total of 4 days in the slammer, and so she'll do maybe 9 more days total, a portion of which looks like it will be spent in medical lockup.
I do so enjoy the self-serving comments made about this matter by her family and friends. That stuff one of them said about Sheriff "Chewy" Baca knowing how much time people should do and where they should do it. Chewy violated the judge's order and is lucky the judge didn't get pissy about it and stuff Baca in a cell for contempt. I know it is popular to slam judges, but I happen to have a lot of respect for the judges who deal with shit day in and out in municipal and county courts. Those guys do the heavy lifting with the criminal populations and they tend to have very realistic views of people because all they see are the drunk drivers, the petty thieves, the junkies, all the time. They don't do constitutional law or make law. They make decisions about who to send to jail and for how long every day. They look at a Paris Hilton and they are not likely to see the poor little rich girl celebrity. They see another drunk and junkie who needs a kick in the ass to get her to stop driving with a snootful (what is the correct spelling for "snootful" anyway?) This wasn't some district court judge putting a stay on an execution because of a prisoner rights issue. This was a city judge with another drunk in front of the bench and he handled it like that's what it was.

Ohhhh. That actually makes a lot of sense. I keep reading that she's getting more than most people do. That seems to be what the sheriff is saying. I have no idea. I just want to know why on earth, with all her money, she doesn't just hire a driver?
